Gmail Labs Add Unread Count on Favicon
Are you using any extension or add-on on your browser to keep track of the number of unread messages in Gmail? Just a day ago, I suggested that you replace such extension with Minimalist Gmail, a powerful Gmail customization extension for Chrome that features unread messages count on Gmail’s favicon.
Today, there is a new addition in Gmail Labs that does exactly that.
This is definitely welcoming for users who pin the Gmail tab on Chrome, and also to those who have so many tab opened that they can barely read the tab’s title anymore.
To enable, simply go to Gmail Labs and look for Unread message icon.
It’s only supported in Chrome 6+ or Firefox 2+, but what else can you be using?
The next feature Gmail Labs should work on would be sound notification. A perfect companion to the unread messages favicon.

Gmail’s this new feature will become very popular among busy persons who don’t have time to check mail time to time just to check any new unread mail.

Along with the new desktop notification in the Gmail Labs, no one needs any 3rd party notifier now.

It is a great thing for me. I recently started using Desktop Notifier but somehow its not working. This one will surely make life easier.
